New Intra2net Appliance Eco boosts VPN performance by 370 %
Fast cloud connectivity for small businesses
Tuebingen, 12.02.2025 - Groupware and security specialist Intra2net (www.intra2net.com) presents the new generation of the Intra2net Appliance Eco. The compact hardware platform for small companies now offers more than three times the system performance. This provides seamless connectivity to cloud-based workstations and cloud services. The advantages of fast fiber optic Internet connections can thus be fully exploited.
High throughput rates
The Intra2net Appliance Eco is designed for small companies with up to 25 users. The new model achieves a firewall throughput of 930 Mbit/s. The VPN throughput with IPSec and WireGuard is 890 Mbit/s - a massive increase compared to the previous generation (190 Mbit/s). Up to 70,000 e-mails can now be processed per hour.
Completely updated hardware
The basis for the performance increase is a completely updated hardware platform with Intel N100 CPU. With 8 GB, the Intra2net Appliance Eco now offers twice as much RAM. A 1 TB SDD with NVMe is used for mass storage. Five Gigabit Ethernet interfaces ensure network segmentation or the connection of WLAN access points. The dimensions of the appliance, which is manufactured in Germany, are 320 x 65 x 200 mm (1.5 U, rackmount kit included). With a power consumption of 16 watts, the quiet hardware can be operated in an energy-efficient manner.
From network protection to groupware: Three software packages pre-installed
Three software packages are pre-installed on the appliance, which can be activated at any time using a license key. Intra2net Network Security protects company networks against attacks from the Internet with a multi-level firewall. Home workstations, mobile devices and other locations can be securely connected via VPN. The Intra2net Security Gateway also offers functions such as antivirus, spam filtering and Internet access control. With the Intra2net Business Server, an Exchange alternative with Internet security, e-mail and groupware is also available.
Intra2net has published the software release 6.12.2 at the same time as the new hardware generation. The new features for WireGuard VPN include improved connection management and optimized logging. System monitoring via SNMP protocol has also been extended. In addition, the software now supports Eaton UPS models.

This is of particular benefit to companies with VPN connections to cloud services or when connecting home office workstations, as there is no need to compromise on performance" says Steffen Jarosch, CEO of Intra2net AG.
Prices and availability
The new Intra2net Appliance Eco is available immediately and costs EUR 590 RRP including a 24-month warranty. A Next Business Day warranty extension for 36 or 60 months is available as an option.
License keys for the software packages pre-installed on the appliance are available separately. Prices start at 190 euros for Intra2net Network Security, including software maintenance for twelve months.
